The Park and Lake of Paskuqan has been inaugurated as one of the largest new green spaces in the Kamëz and Tirana area, marking an important urban and environmental transformation. Covering around 84 hectares, this park represents a strategic investment aimed at improving quality of life and creating a recreational space for the community. During the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Edi Rama described the project as a clear example of how neglected areas can be transformed into functional and attractive public assets. He emphasized that the transformation of Paskuqan Lake is part of a long-term vision for sustainable urban development and that the model implemented in Kamëz should serve as a reference for other areas. The park offers a wide range of facilities for citizens, including pedestrian paths around the lake, cycling lanes, children’s playgrounds, sports fields, an open-air amphitheater, and a pier over the water. Additionally, the planting of thousands of trees has created a new microclimate, positively impacting air quality and the ecological balance of the area. According to the Mayor of Kamëz, Rakip Suli, the park was built from scratch and now represents a modern public space accessible to everyone. He highlighted that the investment is not merely aesthetic, but also has a direct social impact, creating a meeting place for families, young people, and the wider community. Today, the Paskuqan Lake Park is gradually becoming a preferred destination for walking, sports, and relaxation, especially during weekends. This project demonstrates that investments in green spaces are essential for healthier, more livable cities that are better connected with nature.
